May is Mental Health Awareness Month

Do you find yourself eating more during quarantine?

It’s been 6weeks since the country has been on lockdown.Currently we are dealing with a multitude of emotions – anxiety, stress, sadness, and anger. Many people face challenges in their life that can impact their mental health.1 in 5 people will experience a mental illness during their lifetime.

As a result, individuals may be coping in different ways, including turning to food for comfort. Diet plays an important role in why we may be feeling more anxious and stressed right now, too.

A big part of staying healthy while at home is diet, which includes what you eat just as much as when, how much, and why. You may find yourself struggling with emotional eating because your emotions are heightened as you try to navigate this new norm.

The good news is that we are not alone because there are practical tools that everyone can use to improve their mental & physical health and increase their resiliency.

There are ways that everyone can be supportive of friends, family, and co-workers who are struggling with life’s challenges or their mental health. That’s why we’re excited to offer the May Modification Series where we will have 30 days of modifying diet, and virtual fitness classes.

We will be using my book chapter 4 which is filled with excellent nutrition recipes available in addition to free virtual Zumba classes. Inbox me for details. Here’s the link to register for Zumba.

So for the next 31 days, let’s work on our mental and physical health together this Month of May!
